Darwin Museum and Yet Another Water Activity

OMG. Have Darwin turned on the weather for us or what. The sun is shining once again and it is another pearler of a day. Humidity is low, nights are cool. This place rocks!! This morning we set off for a bit of an educational day, heading firstly to the Museum and Art Gallery of Northern Territory. This had some great exhibits including the stuffed remains of Sweetheart, a 5.2m crocodile that they accidently killed while trying to catch and transfer him to a sanctuary. There was also an exhibit about Cyclone Tracy, and we got to listen to a guy share his personal experience of what he went through during the cyclone. Also at the museum was a big display of Aboriginal artwork.

We then went to the Darwin Military Museum and learned about the bombings of Darwin during the Second World War. I was quite shocked to discover there were more bombs dropped on Darwin than there were on Pearl Harbour.

Once finished here we headed for a shopping centre where Troy and Ronan got much needed haircuts. After lunch we headed to the Palmerston water park. There wasn't a whole lot to do here other than a big six person racing slide which we thoroughly enjoyed.

There was also one of those big buckets that when full dump a whole lot of water on whoever is underneath it, and a small pool, but considering this park was free, it was pretty good value!! We then went home and had a great BBQ for dinner.
