The Barras, Berry Springs and Another Waterpark

This morning we headed to Howard Springs Nature Park for a Ranger led Barra feeding session. Ranger Louise gave us a bit of a run down as to how and why Howard Springs came about. It was built by the soldiers that were located in Darwin during the Second World War as a second source of water, and for swimming. They even graffitied their names in the dam wall! Ranger Louise then bought out some fish which we were able to feed to the barramundi. The Barra were huge and we really wished we could've had a go at catching one!!

We then headed to Berry Springs. This was a great little waterhole (yes another one!) that had a small waterfall, a big swimming hole, and it was warm!

We had a big paddle here before we drove back into town for a spot of shopping before we hit yet another water park. This one too was free, and had three water slides, a big water area and a large pool. We had a grouse time here with the Sydney crew for the rest of the day.

We returned back to the park for a sausage sizzle dinner and a little demo from a ranger from one of the wildlife parks. We got to hold Snappy, a baby saltwater croc, Bubbles, a snake and she also bought in a turtle. It was great!

Bubbles took a real liking to the kids, wrapping herself all around them!
