A Day in Broome

Today we enjoyed the relaxed pace of Broome with an early morning swim in the pool. Troy cooked up his super big breakfast which we all thoroughly enjoyed! We then headed down to Cable Beach for a swim. The swell was pleasant and the kids enjoyed their boogie boards, catching some waves, and tried some body surfing.

We saw some Aboriginal crabs, and why I say this is that they create some amazing Aboriginal artwork.

The entire beach is covered in these small balls of sand, which I assume get washed away when the tide comes in, then they start all over again. They must work fast!

We came back to the park, and after a light lunch had another swim in the pool.  Tonight Troy and I left the kids to fend for themselves while we went out to the Comedy Festival.

It turned out the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow was in town, and as we missed it in Melbourne we decided to go in Broome! There were 5 comedians, 4 worth mentioning!  The host was an aboriginal, Kevin something, and quite funny, but really racist toward aboriginals! Only he could get away with it! Next up was Nick Codey, not sure on the spelling, but he was really funny. Then we had a girl, dressed up as a guy singing a few songs, average, then Anne something, she was pretty funny, and lastly Bob Franklin, who was clearly there for the money, but was pretty good. Love a laugh!
