Oyster Stacks and Yardie Creek

We woke this morning to an amazingly sunny day and cloudless sky!!  Somehow the grounds had managed to absorb all the excess water over night and the roads, while a little worse for wear, were free for us to drive on today. We made our first stop at Oyster Stacks and had a snorkel here. As I was putting my flippers on a small grey tipped reef shark swam past, which was awesome, and small enough that I still got in the water!!

It was quite shallow and the current once again drifted us over some beautiful coral. We again saw heaps of fish, including some huge parrot fish, a massive clam and a small sting ray. The water is amazingly warm, hence why I am even brave enough to get in!!

From here we went further down to Yardie Creek to have a look around.  I expected it to be a little bigger, with maybe a shop or two and a petrol station!, but there were only a couple of campsites, a few loos and a sign showing where to go for a boat cruise down Yardie Creek. We hiked along the creek to the gorge instead, which was great.

After lunch we went down to our beach and had a final swim and snorkel. Troy and Stella had an attempt at catching a fish off our beach and sadly Stella out fished Troy, catching two fish to Troy's none!! She was a little impressed! Troy had to hold up his lure to feel a little bit special!!

We then met up with the other camp folk and watching our final sunset from Camp Kurrajong at Ningaloo Marine Park!
