Troy - The Hunter

We packed up early this morning so that Troy had some fishing time before we set off. He'd barely been gone half an hour when Ronan came back and told me that I had to come and see the fish he'd caught. Off we went to the fish cleaning area when I was met with this sight!

Troy was rather chuffed with himself!! We didn't stop hearing about it all day!! His first catch was a little smaller, and paled in comparison to this one! While they were down at the beach they also saw a sea snake having a swim in the shallows.

After Troy cleaned the fish, we set off for Barn Hill Station. We had read that the road in, while unsealed, was ok for 2WD, but I beg to differ! Poor Yeti. And once we had started down the road we couldn't turn around so we had to push on! Also when I say unsealed, I mean red dirt and dust! Thanks for the warning about the dust Lyn!! Poor Yeti and Oz are now totally filthy!! After a very slow trek, we made it unscathed and set up camp. Barn Hill is a working cattle station, although these people obviously believe in fencing, so the cattle are not just wandering around the roads like we have been seeing around the place. Cows are currently winning the road kill toll (that we have seen, not hit!) Imagine the damage that would do to your car!!

We went down the beach for a swim and for a walk along the coast. We found some great rock formations and heaps of buoys!

We returned to camp for a fish dinner, which was amazing!!

  1. I see you tamed the snake. That's a nice natural shot. No special effects needed.

I won't say any about the buoys that troy us holding :p but definitely a good catch (referring to the fish).
