Cape Le Relax......Only With Bugs!!

Today we woke early, it's hard to keep the sunlight out when you have no walls!! Although it was still hot, the heavens opened and gave us a bit of a downpour. We housed the neighbourhood kids for a while, entertaining themselves with a game or two of Uno! The rain stopped after about an hour and by 9am the sun came out, dried up all the rain and gave us a very humid day! We wandered over to the nearby cafe and had a great chat with the staff. They gave us a bit of a run down on the way things work up here. Cape Leveque is actually owned by the local Aboriginal communities, but when it was left for them to run, it didn't go quite so well, so now it is run in conjunction with them. All the local people have an option to work here, and are even picked up and dropped home if they do, but not many choose to. The local communities get a percentage of the monies received from the resort, but the people we spoke to were unsure of how that is split amongst them. We left the cafe and headed across the road to the beach. The water is amazingly warm, and apparently crocodile free!!

We had a lovely swim, then Troy tried a very popular pastime over here in WA, driving on the beach!!

We drove to a beach that is supposed to be good for fishing, but Troy had no luck! We then drove to Western Beach to have a look at the gorgeous red cliffs there. Filter works Trav!!

Tonight we went out for dinner at the resort's restaurant. The food was so delicious. We then headed home for a much cooler night! Eric, our resident lizard who lives along the roof line, has done little about our resident bug or mozzie population!! Bug spray doesn't seem to help either, and I am sure the mozzie nets have a hole in them as I still wake up with bites!
